04.16.10 Maya Eichler receives Gender and International Security Fellowship at Harvard The Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University has awarded MAYA EICHLER, postdoctoral fellow here at CIS, the 2010-11 postdoctoral fellowship in Gender and International Security. Maya is currently completing a book manuscript entitled "Gender, Conscription, and War in Post-Soviet Russia," and also conducting research on gender and the privatization of military security. At the Kennedy School, she will be a joint fellow with the Women and Public Policy Program and the International Security Program at the Belfer Center for Science. CONGRATS MAYA! More about Maya Eichler: Maya Eichler is a Hayward R. Alker Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for International Studies at USC. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from York University (Toronto). Her areas of specialization are International Relations, gender studies, and Russian politics. Maya has published in the International Feminist Journal of Politics and several edited volumes, and co-edited a special issue of the Austrian Journal of Political Science on “Counter/Terror/Wars: Feminist Perspectives” (no. 2, 2008). She is currently completing a book manuscript on gender, conscription, and war in post-Soviet Russia, as well as conducting research on gender and the privatization of military security.
